This contract involved the transformation of space left barren after the demolition of a former derelict warehouse and to turn the area in to the new home for Thrifty car and van hire in Luton.
The project included the clearing of the grounds, the provision of surface drainage as set out in the planning conditions, foundations and the organisation of delivery and siting of the new bespoke made office cabins; access steps, DDA compliant ramps and hand rails were then added.
To the rear of the grounds, a new vehicle valeting facility was sited, including provision of silt trap and connection to drainage in the wash bay power and water supplies were provided to enable washing and internal valeting in the two separated sides as well as storage provision LED lighting was fitted in both bays to provide excellent light levels with a keen eye kept on both cost effectiveness and the environment.
The waste land to the front of the yard was transformed into extra parking space with the use of an eco-friendly crate and stone system & the area was secured with new palisade fencing with the addition of a new bespoke cantilever gate fitted allowing for better use of car parking space.
This project was hampered by some severe weather conditions during the programme with the added complication of works being carried out within a residential area, however, although we encountered these difficulties the works were brought in on time and within budget.
